Oh, my gosh! I have decided that I just need to quit my day job and write full time because it is obviously the only way I can get my writing done in a timely manner!! I’m sure the rest of you can feel exactly where I’m coming from. However, I must say that my day job has brought me some most delightful days here recently. Last week, I was in Dallas attending the TLA conference all week (Texas Librarian Association) and most of it was a lot of fun. I went to several panels where I got to hear authors such as Cassandra Clare, author of Mortal Instruments, Laini Taylor – Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Mac Barnett author of many great books, and lots of others talk on various topics. I LOVED THEM ALL. They were funny and genuine and such a down right delight to listen to. It was time well spent even though it took a chunk out of my own time to get things down. I don’t care, I wold certainly do it all over again. I will tell you that Mac Barnett and Greg Pizzoli were hilarious and I can’t wait for their next children’s book – Hi, Jack, to come out in February. But truly, they all were great.
But if I’m honest, even without the conference, it’s just plain hard to get time in to write after a full day’s work but I’m trying. And I have made progress. I have finished with the editing part for Through Your Eyes – at least as far as I can take it. I must say, that I did catch a funny typo. I had meant to write “Stock Market” in a particular part but had wrote “Sock Market” and didn’t even catch it until my fourth edit!! Good grief! Editing something you are very close to can be a bit tricky to say the least, but I hope you will be forgiving if there are other typos I have missed because I’m sure I have missed others. One day, I will be able to get a real live editor, but until then, it’s just you and me, kid.
So here’s the plan: I still have to do all the formatting for the book in order to have it ready for publishing digitally as well as reformatting for print. Once I upload it, it will take up to three days for it to be available. With all that said, I am shooting for publication at least by next weekend where I plan to set the first day for download free on amazon. If you download a copy, I would LOVE to hear your feedback. Please consider leaving a review, shooting me an email, or even posting a comment here on the blog. I truly enjoy hearing from you!
I will post as soon as it’s ready on amazon so keep checking back so you can get your free copy. When I get the print version ready, I hope to do a giveaway for that as well.
Best To You,
